Frequently Asked Questions:

1. What is reflexology?
Reflexology is a therapeutic practice based on the principle that specific points on the feet, hands, and ears correspond to different organs and systems in the body. By applying pressure to these reflex points, reflexologists aim to promote relaxation, improve circulation, and support the body's natural healing processes.
2. Is reflexology the same as a foot massage?
No, reflexology is different from a traditional foot massage. While a foot massage focuses on general relaxation and muscle tension relief, reflexology targets specific reflex points to address imbalances in various parts of the body.
3. What are the benefits of reflexology?
Some reported benefits of reflexology include:
  • Stress relief and relaxation
  • Improved circulation
  • Pain management (e.g., headaches, back pain)
  • Enhanced overall well-being
  • Support for better sleep.
4. How does reflexology work?
Reflex points in the hands , feet and ears and face (and peripheral elements of the body) correspond or mirror parts of the body. Stimulating these points assists energy flow and restores harmony and reduces feelings of anxiety.
5. Does reflexology hurt?
Reflexology is generally not painful. However, some points may feel tender or sensitive, especially where a build up of toxins has accumulated. Working these areas I adjust pressure to meet your own level of comfort.
6. Who can benefit from reflexology?
Reflexology is generally safe for people of all ages, from children to the elderly. It may be particularly helpful for individuals dealing with:
  • Stress and anxiety
  • Chronic pain
  • Digestive issues
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Sleep disorders.
7. How long does a reflexology session last?
A typical reflexology session with myself lasts 60 minutes.
8. How often should I have reflexology treatments?
The frequency depends on your goals. For general relaxation, sessions once a month may suffice, while chronic issues might require weekly or bi-weekly treatments and 6 to 8 sessions.
9. Do I need to prepare for a reflexology session?
No special preparation is needed. Wear comfortable clothing, and ensure your feet and hands are clean.
10. Consultation
An initial consultation is required before treatments commence to gather health history and discuss specific concerns during your first session. This takes between 10 and 15 minutes.

What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and supports the body’s natural ability to heal. The term "Reiki" combines two Japanese words:
  • Rei – meaning "universal" or "spiritual wisdom"
  • Ki – meaning "life force energy"
Reiki practitioners use gentle touch or place their hands just above the body to channel healing energy into the recipient. This process is believed to help balance energy flow, clear blockages, and restore harmony to the mind, body, and spirit.
Key Points About Reiki
  • Origins: Reiki was developed in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui in Japan.
  • Non-Invasive: Sessions are typically relaxing and do not involve manipulation or pressure.
  • Benefits: Reiki is often used for stress relief, emotional support, pain management, and overall well-being.
  • Holistic Approach: It complements traditional medical treatments but is not a substitute for medical care.
